Junargali Pass

Also known as Jorawar Gali Pass. It is towards the north of Roopkund lake there is a rock named Junargali which offers stunning view to surroundings specially Trishul and Nanda ghunti peeks. Roopkund lake forms a valley and is filled from the meltdown snow of junargali pass and surroundings peek. Its is about 500 feet/150 meter above the roopkund lake.

Best Time

Generally during summers it is filled with heavy snow and is summit to Junargali is not possible, Best time to climb and go to junargali is during post moonsoon( September and Octomber)

Time to reach to Junargali pass

It can take close to 45 min to 1 hour to climb to junargali pass from roopkund lake. Onewould require ropes to ascent to Junargali pass and to go down to other side of it

The Other side of Junargali pass

There is a Iron gate with a bell in it which welcomes you to the other side of junargali, the descent from Junargali to other side is quite steep and requires ropes, since the descent is quite snowy and slippery and needs to be done with great care.
